Frequently Asked Questions
1.When I start BBNav it says my safety camera software is due to expire?
If you have just purchased your BBNav then you will need to register to obtain your six month free safety camera trial. To register for your safety camera trial please Click Here
2. BBNav doesn't seem to save favourite and recent locations?
This occurs when your SD card is set to write protect (lock). Your SD card is located on the side of your BBNav and to remove it, push it in slightly and it will then pop out of the slot. On the side of the SD card you will notice a small white switch that can move up and down, move it to the unlock position. When re-inserting your SD card back into your BBNav make sure you have it the right way round, with the metal strips going into the device first.
3.
When I plug in my BBNav to my PC, Windows Vista wont recognise it?
Windows Vista comes with a pre-installed version of Microsoft ActiveSync. For a trouble shooting guide
4.After I have installed Microsoft Activesync, I get an error message saying 'Cannot verify the version of activesync on your device', why?
On some laptops and PC's, after you install Microsoft Activesync and connect your BBNav it displays the message ' cannot verify the version of activesync on your device'. If this message is displayed please uninstall your version of Activesync (via Control Panel, Add and Remove Programs) and then download and install Activesync version 3.8. Click Here to download (opens third party site) and select version (build 5004) from HPC:Factor. There is also a good installation guide below the download area and make sure you DO NOT connect your BBNav until after you have installed Activesync.
5. Why does my clock on my BBNav always seem to tell me the date and time is 2007-01-10 12.00 ?
Your BBNav software has been designed to obtain accurate date and time information from the GPS signal. Whenever you navigate you will notice that the time is always corrected automatically and when you exit the BBNav software, the system time has been changed as well. The problem is that if you press the OFF button (located on top of the BBNav) for too long it will reset the device and the clock. When turning the BBNav off, only press the OFF button firmly for a second or two and you will see it go into 'Entering Sleep Mode' and then it will retain the time and date settings. If you press the OFF button for too long and you see '-Power Off Mode' displayed the device will reset the clock when turned on. Again when you navigate it will automatically be corrected for you.
